OCCUPATIONS AND TYPE OF EMPLOYER: Among the most common occupations were: Management, professional, and related occupations, 35 percent; Sales and office occupations, 26 percent; Service occupations, 18 percent; Construction, extraction, maintenance and repair occupations, 11 percent; and Production, transportation, and material moving occupations, 10 percent. OCCUPIED HOUSING UNIT CHARACTERISTICS: From 2005-2007, Brevard County had 218,000 occupied housing units - 167,000 (77 percent) owner occupied and 51,000 (23 percent) renter occupied.
